Abstract Over 1,000 cities worldwide have launched smart city initiatives, with a particular focus on improving smart transportation. Many vehicles are equipped with Consumer Electronics such as navigation systems and dashcams, yet these devices do not share data with other vehicles or smart city infrastructures. This lack of data exchange limits the ability of smart transportation systems to accurately monitor road conditions and manage traffic congestion. Additionally, the information from various Consumer Electronics devices is stored independently on each device, leading to potential data loss in the event of an accident. Therefore, it is crucial to integrate CE data within a smart in-vehicle system that can store and share information, providing more comprehensive data for smart city analysis. This paper proposes a blockchain-based smart Vehicle-to-Everything System for Consumer Electronics. The proposed system integrates all vehicle information and facilitates data exchange with smart cities. By leveraging blockchain technology and smart user behavior analysis, the system ensures the security of the CE in-vehicle system. Furthermore, the system stores data on the blockchain, enhancing data accessibility and reliability. The comprehensive network security framework proposed in this study guarantees the security of the Consumer Electronics Vehicle-to-Everything System, ensuring robust data protection and preventing unauthorized access. © 2012 IEEE.
