Abstract With the drastic increase of their urban population, cities face huge challenges to maintain and update their infrastructures. Assessing in real time the effect of urban policies will be a key tool in the future of urban planning. In this paper, we discuss of mobility and its impact on air quality. We introduce a pilot project in which low cost IoT sensors are used to monitor flow of cars and pedestrians and concentration of particulate matters within the Australian city of Liverpool. © 2020 The Authors.
