Abstract As the urban sprawl pursues with advancements, the confrontation of waste management and air pollution control in the cities is turning out to be increasingly complicated. There is an alarming requisite that these challenges are to be addressed instantly and effectively, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the associated advanced visualization techniques is now emerging as a promising and transformative solution. This research article introduces a solution by capitalizing on the, predictive modelling, together with the advanced visualization techniques. Our proposed solution aims to enhance the efficiency of the control of waste management and air pollution and provides an introspective approach in building an AI-based city that exploits innovative strategies, which leads to transparency of the monitoring and control methods. It also engages citizens to accomplish a data-driven decision-making and create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable smart city environment. © 2024 IEEE.
