Abstract This article explores the concept of smart cities by examining the literature review, research methodology, and associated findings and discussions. The literature review sheds light on the emergence of smart cities in response to the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and global competition. The methodology adopted is based on convenience sampling, mobilizing 267 professionals involved in smart cities in Morocco. The results of the multinomial regression reveal that the age variable plays a significant role in the efficiency of smart cities, highlighting the importance of designing urban environments that are inclusive and adapted to the specific needs of each generation. The practical implications of these findings suggest that understanding age-specific influences is crucial for a successful and balanced implementation of smart city initiatives, thus guiding targeted interventions in areas such as health, education, and marketing.
