Abstract The chapter “Applications of Blockchain for Future Mobility” explores the evolving landscape of mobility in the context of emerging technologies like automation, artificial intelligence, IoT, e-commerce, battery tech, and blockchain. As personal car ownership decreases, new mobility solutions tailored to individual preferences are on the rise. Car-sharing systems and commercial fleets are expanding, offering customized in-car experiences. Blockchain technology plays a pivotal role in securing and managing vehicle data, personal preferences, and transactions. It ensures trust, transparency, and data integrity among participants, enabling secure identity verification, smart contracts, and power trading for electric vehicles. Blockchain also enhances vehicular communication, prevents odometer fraud, and facilitates digital vehicle passports for used EVs. The chapter delves into blockchain’s potential across various automotive sectors, including supply chain management, manufacturing, anti-counterfeiting, customer loyalty programs, insurance, and the transformation of smart cities. Blockchain promises to revolutionize the mobility industry, fostering efficiency, transparency, and innovation. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Ghulam Yasin, Amit Kumar Tyagi and Tuan Anh Nguyen; individual chapters, the contributors.
